I grew the crystals with a kind of ammonium and alum.
The crystals were grown from one month to two months but the growth was slow and it did not do so large, because it was long rain. The materials are somewhat different, but there are some kits for children’s free research so anyone can be raised. I also set them in a dip of the ground as though crystals were formed there. That is due to the idea of heterogeneous crystals coexisting among minerals.
The title is “World mutually connected”.
The materials and methods are roughly the same, but diverse crystals can be created due to slight differences in cultivation conditions, such as weather, temperature, vibration and other everyday environments. Through them, it suggests that various things are connected. You reconsider that not only crystals but also many things that exist are related to each other.
もう一つの会場は伊参エリア（イサマと読みます）にある伊参スタジオ。
１階の奥にある階段下です、少し奥まっていて見逃しがちなので気をつけて下さい。
アンモニウムの一種で溶液を作りミョウバンをタネとして結晶を育てました。結晶は１ヶ月から２ヶ月かけて育てましたが長雨のせいで成長が遅くあまり大きく育ちませんでした。材料は若干違いますが、お子様の自由研究用に育成キットなども販売されていますのでどなたでも育てることができます。また床のくぼんだ部分を利用してあたかもそこに結晶ができたように制作しました。それは鉱物の中に異種の結晶が共生しているイメージと重なったためです。
作品タイトルは「つながりあう世界」です。
核となる材料や育て方は概ね同じですが、育成する際のちょっとした条件、例えば天候、温度や振動など日々の環境の違いによって多様な結晶ができます。それらを通して様々な事象がつながり成り立っているということ示唆しています。結晶だけに限らず、我々はもとより存在している多くのものは切り離しては考えれないという事を再確認できればと思います。
これまでも鉱物を通して制作してきた経緯があり私にとっては重要なモチーフです。
石などは変化のないものとして捉えられがちですが、気の遠くなるような長い年月をかけ環境と共に時の層を重ねていきます。それに比べ短命な私たちも誰かや何かと関わり合いながらどこかにその痕跡を残しながら生きています。
