37組のアーティストによる絵画や彫刻、パフォーマンスなど、多彩な表現が一堂に会します。中之条町では、一般家庭や店舗、旅館といった身近な場所にアートが取り入れられ、日常のなかに自然と息づいています。長年、芸術祭に関わるなかで、地域の方々がアートに親しみ、その距離が少しずつ縮まってきたことを実感しています。
初開催となったAFN2024を訪れた際には、ご年配の方が拡大鏡を手に価格を確かめている光景に出会い、少し驚きつつもどこかうれしさを覚えました。
作品は「鑑賞するもの」から「手元に置くもの」へ。
このアートフェアが、アートと暮らす新たな一歩となれば幸いです。

I will be exhibiting at Art Fair Nakanojo 2026.
A total of 37 artists will present a wide range of works, including paintings, sculptures, and performances, bringing together diverse forms of expression in one place.
In Nakanojo, art is woven into everyday life—appearing in homes, shops, and inns, where it has gradually taken root over time. Through my long-term involvement in the Nakanojo Biennale, I have witnessed how local residents have become increasingly familiar with art.
When I visited the first edition, AFN 2024, I encountered an elderly person carefully checking a price tag with a magnifying glass—an unexpected yet quietly delightful moment.
Art can shift from something we simply “view” to something we “live with.”
I hope this fair becomes an opportunity to take that next step.
