◼️略歴
大阪出身、東京都在住。京都造形芸術大学で絵画を学び2005年に卒業

◼️ステイトメント
私の関心は自然界にありそれらの成立ちや関係性に興味がある。近年は「つながりあう世界」を主題とし、鉱物や植物等を足がかりに絵画やインスタレーションで表現している。蝋絵具を重ね描いたエンコウスティックや様々な素材を扱った作品は、環境に応じ形成され変容してゆく鉱物から着想を得たものだ。光合成により全ての命を支える植物は、循環や生命の象徴として作品に現れる。自然界で起こる小さな出来事やそこに広がる多様性を眺めていると、世界の見方が変わる時がある。各々が主体となる世界では、時間の流れ方や見ている景色も同じではない。しかし個は全体の構成要素であり全体とは変化し続ける地球である。人間を個とすれば社会が全体とも言えるだろう。現代では多様性が必要とされながらも人種や思想、価値観等の違いによって寛容さを失い分断されつつある。だとしても、それらを完全に切り離す事はできない。あらゆるものがこの世界のかけらであり、私達を取り巻く環境がそれぞれの存在のあり様を決定づけてゆく

Harumi Shimazu

◼️Statement
I am a visual artist based in Tokyo, Japan. I have been working on mixed media, encaustic painting and site–specific installations, exhibiting domestically and internationally. I am interested in the natural world especially their origins and relationships. The world surrounding us is diverse. It is related to each environment, perception, space-time and so on. We are connected to each other somewhere, even if you can see or not. I view nature as a vast living organism, and I try to represent the diversity, energy of life and the ephemeral of beauty in nature.
